February 25, 2010, the Ka-226T coaxial rotor-type helicopter has completed the first test phase under tender issued by the Government of India. The tests were performed in conditions of desert and in mountainous district of India where the flights were performed at an altitude of 7000 m. Earlier, in 2009 the tests performed by KumAPE JSC confirmed the service ceiling of the helicopter of 7500 m. Main gearbox BP-226H developed by Krasny Octiabr is installed on the helicopter.
