The assigned service life time of 8А-1515-000 intermediate gearbox, 246‑1517‑000 tail gearbox, 8А-1516-000 tail rotor shaft of Mi-8 helicopters and their modifications being operated in the civil aviation of the Russian Federation was increased: the assigned service life time up to 16,000 hours, time till the first overhaul and time between overhauls up to 4000 hours (Decision No. АХТ-Ми-8Т-2011/03.9.91).

The first working model of main gearbox VR-382 was assembled. The gearbox was developed by “Krasny Octiabr” for Mi-38 helicopter version equipped with ТV7-117V engines.

The Federation of Trade Unions of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region expressed gratitude to “Krasny Octiabr” for successful 3-year performance of sportsmen representing the enterprise at the Olympics and handed out awards to “Krasny Octiabr” Sports Club council chief A. Kuftyrev and the enterprise Sports Complex director A. Detsyna.

The second prototype of new Mi-38 OP-2 helicopter made its first flight at the airfield of JSC “Kazan Helicopters”. The helicopter is equipped with main gearbox VR-38, designed by JSC “Krasny Octiabr”.

The assigned service life time of 90-1515-000 intermediate gearbox and 90-1517-000 tail gearbox of Mi-26 (T) helicopters was increased up to 3000 hours.

"Krasny Octiabr" Design Bureau completed development of shop drawings of the main gearbox VR-382 intended for the Mi-38 helicopter version with domestic engines TV7-117V.

A ceremony of service introduction for the squadron of MiG-29K/KUB carrier-based fighters took place at air base INS Hansa (India, Goa). Krasny Octiabr supplied aircraft accessory gearboxes for these aircrafts. The Minister of Defense of India A.K. Antony and the Vice-President of UAC M. Pogosyan attended the ceremony.

The first 5^th generation fighter T-50-1 performed its first flight at the airdrome of KnAAPO named after Yuri Gagarin. Krasny Octiabr had developed and supplied the auxiliary power unit and starters for this aircraft.
